Works to be Human explores how to ‘be more human’ at work; and why it’s beneficial for individuals and employers.
My work in coaching, human resources and organisational development, over the last twenty years, has confirmed that our ‘humanness’, with its wonderful complexities, doesn’t stop, just because we’re at work. We take our experiences, hopes, insecurities, idiosyncrasies and uniqueness along with us.
I’ve experienced what happens when we’re enabled to bring our whole selves to work and I’ve also experienced what it’s like to be, simply, treated as a resource. So, in the spirit of ‘being human’, I’ve shared my story about the life-changing event that compelled me to make work more human.
What next?
My aim is to connect with people who share a mutual interest in translating the abstract concept of ‘being more human’ into great organisations that also deliver business outcomes; particularly in the areas of leadership and management; change; and other moments that matter to us humans navigating the work experience.
The human behind ‘Works to be Human’
Aside from being, somewhat, obsessed by what makes people tick, I enjoy a good crime drama and watching the tide come in(see the big smile on the pic above).
